Preparing for a Virtual Session

Find the private meeting Zoom link email I sent you and make sure it works properly. Download Zoom if you do not already have it here (it is free to download, and you do not need an account to use it). Email or text me if you have any problems.

Alternatively, we can speak by phone for the check-in – let me know your preference

Decide where you will be for both the Zoom call and the energy part of the session. It is best for the Zoom call if you are in a private space where no one can overhear you – we will be sharing personal health information, which is protected under HIPAA law. For the energy part of the session, you will need your phone and a quiet place free of distractions where you can get comfy. Headphones are recommended.

Prepare your space for both calls with snacks, water, blankets, Kleenex, pets, pillows, soft music, crystals, icons, candles, essential oils or anything else that will support your journey. Focus on physical comfort, because if you are physically uncomfortable it’s nearly impossible to allow space for any other discomfort that may arise.

Please use the bathroom before signing on to the Zoom call

At the appointed time use the link to join our private Zoom meeting.

You will enter the Zoom waiting room and I will let you in.

If we are talking by phone please text me when you are ready and I will call you
If this is your first session with me, we will begin by going over the paperwork together – your health history, client information and the client agreement. We will then progress to a regular check-in, sharing any information you deem important that hasn’t already been discussed.

If this is not your first session we will begin with a traditional check-in – basically what is going on in your life and why you’ve scheduled a session.

Once we have caught up and are ready to move on to the energy part of the session, I will end the Zoom meeting.

Usually both of us are ready to get a drink, have a snack, and/or use the bathroom again

Once you are settled in your physical space and ready for the energy piece you will text me. Take your time.

Once I’ve received your text and I am also ready to continue I will call you on my phone.

I will ask you to briefly describe where you are so that I can home in on you energetically and, once I have that, we will go from there.

Distance sessions are often more interactive than in-person sessions simply because I can’t see your physical body’s reactions to the work and so I need to ask more questions. That said, how much talking happens truly depends on what you need. There may be long stretches of quiet on my end, it doesn’t mean we’ve lost connection or that I’ve fallen asleep (although you might!), only that I am tuning in and waiting for the energy to equalize on its own.

At any point in time during our session, please don’t hesitate to speak – ask questions, share what you’re feeling or thinking, etc. This is your session from start to finish and your needs are the only ones that count.

When I sense the session is complete, I will check in with you and see if there is anything on your end that seems like we need to address.

Once the energy piece is ended, we will continue our phone call and have a short conversation, or check-out, that includes what you noticed, what I noticed, possible other interventions or steps you can take to support the work, continued self-care options, and schedule another session, if needed.

Once I end the phone call, please take your time leaving the space and coming back to “normal.” Pay attention to your body and what it wants, whether that is food or no food, fluids, a walk, sleep, a hot bath, etc.

Energy work can take 24-72 hours to cycle through your body. If you have any questions during this time (or after) please do not hesitate to contact me.

Usually, I send a follow-up email with important points and recommendations so don’t feel compelled to take your own notes, though I do recommend writing down whatever seems important to you for future reference, or as a way of continuing to process what we initiated during the session.

As always, take good care, be gentle and practice self-compassion to the best of your ability.
